What we are trying to do

Peryla explains perimenopause in plain English and points you to the evidence behind every claim, so you can walk into an appointment better informed. It is education, not medical advice. This page sets out the rules we write by. There are 53 guides on the site today, citing 131 sources between them.

Where our information comes from

We work from the top of this list down, and prefer the highest source that answers the question:

  1. Regulators and public health bodies: FDA announcements and drug labels (via DailyMed), the NHS, NICE and the NIH.
  2. Professional society guidance: The Menopause Society, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the Endocrine Society and the International Menopause Society.
  3. Peer-reviewed research, found through PubMed. Where it matters we say what kind of study it was and how many people took part, because a small trial and a large one do not carry the same weight.
  4. Hospital and academic health libraries, such as Cleveland Clinic, Mayo Clinic and Harvard Health, for plain-language background.

Each guide lists its sources, with dates, at the foot of the page. When the evidence is thin or mixed we say so rather than paper over it. We do not use a product maker's own claims as evidence that the product works.

How pages are reviewed and updated

Every guide shows the month it was last reviewed, and the same date is in the page's structured data. When a regulator or professional society changes its guidance, as the FDA did with hormone therapy labels in November 2025 and February 2026, we rewrite the affected pages and change the date. Beyond that, we re-check each guide against its sources at least once a year.

Corrections

If you think something on Peryla is wrong or out of date, we want to know. We check every report against the evidence, and if we were wrong we fix the page and update its review date. A dedicated corrections address will be listed here.

Who writes and checks the content

Pages are written and edited by the Peryla editorial team. There is no named medical reviewer on this site yet, and we would rather say that plainly than imply one. When a credentialed clinician reviews these pages, their name and credentials will appear on every page they sign off.

Independence and money

Peryla is an Agniverse product. Nobody pays to be mentioned or ranked, and we do not sell anything on the page. If we ever earn from a link, the page will say so next to it. See About Peryla and the medical disclaimer.
